The 6th graders begin middle school by learning how to be safe online.  Students will feel empowered to be able to do the following...

    • How to contribute to positive identities and conversation online (for yourself and others).  Building a positive digital footprint.
    • Understand the impact and permanent record that your digital footprint leaves.
  • Digital Safety
    • Understand the type of information that is OK to share online and not OK to share online (personal information)
    • Understand how to select privacy settings when setting up online profiles, and why they would want to do this (how to keep things private online)
    • How do they know if a website is secure and if it is OK to share information online---is the website protecting your information (security)
    • How to know when someone is phishing, scamming or stealing your identity and how to protect yourself from these negative actions online.
